The Ghorepani Poon Hill trek also called Annapurna Poonhill Trek is one of the finest short teahouse-treks in the Annapurna Area. Wake up at the dawn and hike for the view-point of Poon Hill to 3210 m in order to admire the sunrise on the solid masses of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri as well as the valleys of Kaligandaki, the Mustang and Dolpo. A perfect place to take beautiful selfie and photograph memories then returns to the lodge for a good breakfast. Departure for a new day of trekking, progressive rise towards Gurung Hill until Deurali which is 3090m. After the collar, long descent until Banthati for the lunch before arriving at the lodge at Tadapani.
Walk again in the forests of rhododendrons to the small village of Kyumi then descent towards Ghandruk with 1940 m of altitude, one of the most beautiful Gurung villages of the area. In the afternoon, long descent in staircases to the river of Modikhola. After having crossed the bridge, progressive rise to join your lodge in Landruk where you will be able to profit by visiting this pretty small village.
From Samar, you descend into a first valley dug by the river Samarkung, then easy climb enjoying a superb view of the Mt. Nilgiri and Annapurna ranges. Continuation of the climb to the pass at 3850 m and descent to Ghiling which is planned to visit one of the most beautiful monasteries located overlooking the village.
Ghiling is particularly beautiful with its fields of wheat and buckwheat, protected by long dry stone walls.
Last day of walking, we leave the mountain and its villages. Long descend up to Phedi to 1330 m of altitude, end point of the trek. A short journey of 30 minute allows to reach the city of Pokhara. Arrival and installation to the hotel, In the Afternoon, there is possibility of free activities on the Lake Fewa (walks, navigation in boat on the lake, paragliding, visit of the temple on the lake and many more).
After enjoying beautiful Pokhara and its natural and cultural beauty, we begin our drive or fly to Kathmandu (flight is optional). After approximately 6-7 hours drive, we finally reach Kathmandu. Evening farewell dinner with cultural program.

Additional Information On The Circuit
Tribhuvan International Airport is the only international airport of Nepal. Immigration Office, TIA (Tribhuvan International Airport) under Department of Immigration has been facilitating tourists flying to Nepal by providing Visa on Arrival. Likewise, other Entry and Exit points established at the border regions also provide ‘ On Arrival Visa’ to foreign nationals hoping enter to Nepal via land.
On Arrival’ visa procedure is very quick and simple. You can expect some queues during peak Tourist season. If you wish to skip those queues, you can also consider getting Visa from Nepalese Diplomatic Missions stationed abroad prior to your arrival. Choice is yours.
If you have obtained visa from Nepalese Diplomatic Missions, then you must enter Nepal within six months from the visa issued date. Your total stay is counted starting from the day you enter into Nepal.
On arrival visas are ‘Tourist Visas’. They bear multiple Re entry facility. Tourist Visa ‘On Arrival’ is the only entry visa to Nepal. If you are visiting Nepal for the purposes other than Tourism (sightseeing, tour, travel, mountaineering, trekking, visiting friends and families), you should still get ‘ Tourist Visa’ to get into the country. However, you must change the category of visa as per your purpose and length of stay in Nepal from Department of Immigration by producing required documents.

Non Residential Nepalese(NRN) card holder ( issued by MoFA /Nepalese diplomatic missions abroad)
(1) Officials from China, Brazil, Russia and Thailand do not need Entry Visa based on reciprocal visa waiver Agreement.
(2) Visas of all kinds including ‘Gratis’ issued at the Airport are Tourist Visas. Contact Department of Immigration for extending your visa or changing the category of your visa. Tourist Visa extension can be done from Immigration Office, Pokhara too. Non tourist visa extension can be done only at Department of Immigration (if eligible) for a period of maximum one year (except business visa).

Indian nationals do not require a visa to enter Nepal. As per the Nepalese Immigration, Indian Nationals traveling to Nepal by air must possess any one of the following documents.

Other Visa Information
Nationals from Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan will need to obtain visa from Nepal Embassies or Diplomatic Missions in their respective countries, as they do not get visa on arrival at the immigration entry points of Nepal.

Before coming to Nepal verify that your passport is still valid, it must be valid for 6 months after your date of return. All foreigners except Indian nationals must have a valid visa to enter Nepal. For other nationalities, to inquire with the consulate or embassy of the Nepal the nearest to you. If you are traveling with your children regardless of their age, Nepal requires a valid passport.
The visa is mandatory. You can obtain it from the consulate or embassy of the Nepal. It is also possible to get to the airport of Kathmandu at your arrival or to the Indian border.

To perform a Trek or a voyage of discovery, the best periods are the fall between mid-September and the end of November and the spring season from March to May where rhododendrons are in flower.
In winter between December and February the time is very clear and the visibility on the mountains excellent it is possible to do trekking in low altitude (up to 4 000 m of altitude) and cultural visits. The major trekking are not practicable and the passes are closed from mid-June, it is the beginning of the monsoon season until the end of August and this period is not recommended for trekkers.
For the constitution of your trekkig Permit, a photocopy of your passport as well as a photo identity you will be asked.

You will be hosted in guesthouse or in lodge in a double room, the most often in twin with two separate beds. In guesthouse and lodge it is not possible to have a single room except in the off-season. Most are equipped with electricity, a large lounge for the noon meal or dinner in the evening. The shower and toilet are often at the outside. The hot showers are generally paid. According to the regions the lodges have a different comfort. Certain lodges are very well equipped with, in hot water, shower, electricity but this is not the case of all the lodges.
According to the region, the comfort of the accommodation at the inhabitant is variable. In the east of Nepal the inhabitants have the large houses of 2 or 3 floors but without room so you will be hosted in the large main room. In the north and west of the Nepal the houses are small but with rooms. In these houses of village there is no bathroom; shower and toilet (WC) are on the outside. In case of the absence of a shower, the family will propose to you to the hot water in a basin for your toilet.
For the trekking, hiking and expedition in accommodation under a tent we provide for your comfort, a tent for two person with a foam mattress.
The individual rooms exist only in the hotels in the City subject to availability. It is not possible to book a single room in guesthouse, lodge and at the inhabitant.
For the group formed the allocation of rooms, in a hotel, in a guest house or lodge is carried out according to the following logic:

(B) A man with one other HOM
Nepal is a developing country and the quality of the road may be random and precarious. The roads are heavily damaged during periods of monsoon rains, causing landslides or falls of stone which entail of frequent traffic congestion. The Kathmandu valley is particularly affected by the increase in road traffic. The code of the road being nonexistent and the difficult traffic, it is strongly recommended not to self-drive.

For certain domestic transport we use the airway, with the companies Yeti Airlines, Tara Airlines, Buddha Air, Simrik Air. Generally, they work with small aircraft from 15 to 18 places.
The flights in mountains are subject to weather conditions. It sometimes happens that your flight is canceled due to the bad weather; in this case your flight will be postponed to the next day by the company. If there is no availability in this case you will be proposed a route by helicopter if you want. The difference in the cost of travel you will be requested on the spot.
For your information, the European Commission has included all Nepalese companies on the black list of companies banned from flying within the European Union. To this day, no Nepalese company not flying in Europe.
Note/Lukla Flights are departing and returning to Ramechhap instead of Kathmandu due to ongoing upgrades at Kathmandu Airport. Its about a 4 hour drive to Ramechhap.
All our guides (mountains high- altitude and city) are accredited professionals by the Nepalese government and have followed a complete training on the Nepal Academy of Tourism & Hotel Management (NATHM). Your guide is responsible for your safety, the safety of the group and its team. The instructions, tips and notes that it emits must therefore be respected and followed to the letter.
Our tours Discovery, trekking or expedition are carried out in the group. Our porters are accustomed to the treks in medium and high altitude and come mainly from the east and the north of Nepal. The profession of bearer is a seasonal work and then they return home to care for their farm and work in the fields. The young students are also increasingly interested in this profession in order to be able to finance their studies. Your porters are actively involved in the success of your trip please do not hesitate to enter into contact with them; they will certainly be very happy to these small moments of sharing. It is possible that sometimes the lodges and guesthouses do not have enough place for all, in this case your porters will be housed in a neighboring house. During the TREK UNDER TENT they will be hosted at the inhabitant or under a large tent of cuisine all together.
During the trekking your luggage is transported by porters and you only carry your day’s things (Bring a small backpack of 30 to 40 liters).
For porter bagage, bring a sports bag or a hiking backpack of 60 to 70 liters. Avoid especially the suitcase with wheels.
In Nepal the weight of portage for the trek, hiking or expedition is regulated. For the trek, you are authorized to take a bag 12 kilos maximum per person and 18 kilos for an expedition 6000 m. Nepal Authentic Trek will provide one porter for two trekkers.
During the trek you will be in full pension. In the morning, breakfast is constituted of bread Nepalese, chapatis, cereals, omelet and porridge, accompanied of butter, jam, and tea or coffee. According to the stage of the day, the lunch takes around noon or one o’clock. For the dinner of the evening a hot meal is served. During the days of long steps, (passage of Col) a picnic cold is expected.
In Nepal the national dish is the Dhalbhat. This dish is composed of white rice, lentils, vegetables and potatoes.
During the trek three times hot drinks are included” Breakfst/Lunch & Dinner “. In the morning you will be served tea or coffee. Alcoholic beverages and soft drinks are at your charge. In the lodges and Guesthouse there is beer, soft drinks and mineral water. The tap water being unfit for consumption in all the countries, it must be treated essential foresaw of pellets of purification and a bottle of 1 to 1.5 liters.
Drinking Wtaer : It is better to use water purification drops and tablets which you can either bring from your own country or buy in Kathmandu. Nepal Authentic Treks also provides water purifier pills.
If your trek is done in lodge or in guesthouse, there is the possibility to take a hot shower Pay , it takes between 1 to 2 USD per shower but cold shower if free. If your trek is carried out in a tent, your team will serve you hot water every morning and evening in a basin for your toilet. At the inhabitant the shower room and WC are on the outside.

In Nepal the currency is the Nepalese rupee. The Indian rupees are also accepted.The euro € and US $ is accepted in exchange offices and banks. In Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Patan in all tourist places you will easily find currency exchange offices.

You are in complete pension during your trek. There should be a supplement for the hot showers, the charging devices and phones, Alcoholic beverages and soft drinks are at your charge and the tips for teams. Tipping is a recommended culture for porters and guide in Nepal as a gesture of thankfulness.
An estimate of about 100 $ or € per participant should be sufficient (outside meals to Kathmandu, Pokhara and purchases of souvenirs).

In Nepal, most of the circuits of trekking occur in altitude. The circuits having at least one night or more in more than 3 500 m of altitude are qualified of trekking in High Mountain. This altitude can generate the symptom of acute mountain sickness. The treatment to always apply is to descent (go back) as quickly as possible to a lower altitude.
Acute mountain sickness (AMS) is a syndrome of suffering, linked to a rise too fast in high altitude, at the absence of acclimation and to a personal sensitivity more or less important. Its symptoms are headache, nausea and vomiting, insomnia, general fatigue, tiredness, dizziness, balance disorder, dyspnoea and of the loss of appetite.
It is therefore a frequent disease affecting people in good health but exposed to an extreme environment of high altitude. Its incidence is variable, but increases very rapidly with altitude; it would be 15% to 2 000 meters of altitude and 60% to 4 000 meters.
This evil usually appears in the 4 to 12 hours following the arrival in altitude: it is regressing with the acclimation and disappears immediately to the descent.
The subscription of an insurance repatriation assistance in mountain and emergency research helicopter is mandatory and required.
